"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)
I love this scripture, it's one of my favorites. Also, notice the number of the verse... It's no accident that there are 3 threes in it. Three is one of the Lord's favorite numbers, but that's another subject. The Lord wants to give us wisdom, show us things that we didn't know. Wisdom is something I pray for everyday before writing the devotion. A lot of times when writing, I feel like the Lord has taught me something. That's one reason I don't give this writing up, even if none of you read it I think I'd still do it: Because when the Lord gives me even a little of His wisdom it's like finding a great treasure. It's like "Oh wow! I didn't know that, that makes so much sense!" It's like a revelation, things come together and things start making sense when the Lord gives us wisdom. His wisdom is what we need to seek everyday, to direct us in all our ways. If we don't seek His wisdom, then we'll find ourselves following our own foolish ways. We have to accept His wisdom, some of us are so hard headed or stiff necked. We think that we're always right, and we don't need direction from anyone or anything even the Lord Himself. But that's where you're wrong if you think like that, because there is only one who sees the whole picture and that's the Lord. He knows and sees things that you don't, so accept His wisdom and follow His direction.
How do we get wisdom from the Lord? I think the scripture says it best, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee..." Ask the Lord for direction, and He'll give it. If you're having a problem and don't know what to do, then just call on the Lord and ask Him what you should do. He'll give you an answer, just be patient and wait on the Lord.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. On this day give us wisdom to know what it is we must do. In Jesus name. A-men!
