I'm thankful that when God asks us to do hard things, He gives us the strength to do what He has called us to do. Today, I went to visit an older lady from my church who's strength has been failing. Since I'm still recovering from the pneumonia and severe breathing problems I developed back during the winter, it takes a lot of effort for me to go out when the weather is as hot as it is here (100 degrees today). But I did what God wanted me to do, and I went to visit Laverne, and I was so blessed by my visit with her. She claims she was the one who got blessed. Either way, God is good. He gives us the strength to do what He asks us to do!

I'm thankful that if we let Him, the Lord speaks to us through His word. This morning in my Bible reading, I came across words that jumped off the page to me. Jeremiah 23:23-24 says ""Am I a God who is near," declares the LORD, "And not a God far off? Can a man hide himself in hiding places so I do not see him?" declares the LORD. "Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?" declares the LORD.

Sometimes, particularly when our souls are hurting, we have the tendency to cut ourselves off from other people and even from God, but God is saying even in the most difficult of circumstances, He is still right there beside us. Nothing we feel, nothing we think, nothing we are is hidden. We can't hide who we are from God.

But the reverse of this is true as well. To those who choose NOT to honor God with their lives, He is still watching you. He still sees what you do. You can't hide from God.

I am thankful that God has chosen to honor His word, even above own His name. (Psalm 138:2). He has said it, and He WILL do it.
