"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." Matthew 7:6 (KJV)
You know, it's obvious that we need to spread the gospel to everyone... But what do we do when someone rejects our message to them? There isn't much we can do except pray for them. If we continue to try and show them the way or debate with them over it, then all we do is give them permission to trample on our beliefs, on the Word of God which is holy. I've tried debating it with those who are just not open to it, those who just want to insult our faith. That's no good, it does no good to debate those types of people... They've made up their mind. No matter what you tell them, they will not accept it! God has to do a work in their lives, so all you can do is pray.
Here's an example of what I'm trying to say, and what I'm saying really doesn't just apply to the Word of God: I know some people that just don't like any of my music I've written. They've insulted everything, even when everyone else liked it. They call it garbage and everything else... So, when I make new material why send it to these people? So that they can ridicule it? It's not constructive what they're saying. So, why give them an opening to step on the things that I hold dear? There's no point, all it does is upset me. I think the same thing applies to the Word of God. Now, some atheists and such are open to hearing your views. They're curious... but others aren't open. They would rather insult you, those insulting ones are the ones that once they've rejected it all we can really do is dust ourselves off and move on. We could be focusing our efforts on someone who is open to hearing it, someone who might accept it. BUT we have to try and tell everyone, everyone deserves the chance to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us to know when to walk away and when not to. May we handle your Word with honor and respect and may we draw many souls to you. In Jesus name. A-men!
