"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness." 1 Timothy 6:10-11 (KJV)
I used to think that money was the root of all evil, but it's not money... It's the LOVE of money. When people love money, they do all the wrong things to get it. A prositute loves money so much that they literally sacrifice their body for it. Someone else who loves money might kill for it. So, the love of money causes us to sin to get money. We cannot love money... And if we love money, then we cannot love God.
If we love money, we cannot love God because God requires something the total opposite of what money requires. The law of money is to kill to get it, the law of God is that thou shalt not kill. So, if the love of money is the root of all evil... The love of God is the root of all good. We have to love God and do good, even if that means we won't have earthly riches. It's better to have Heavenly riches that don't corrupt and cannot be stolen, riches that are eternal than it is to have temporary riches that will burn up with this world. I've seen some of the things that people do for money, and it just isn't worth it. Money doesn't deserve your love, but God does!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us to love you and not money or anything else that leads us astray from you. In Jesus name. A-men!
