"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Matthew 5:48 (KJV)
This verse is probably a stumblingblock to some people. How can we be perfect like God is perfect? How can God expect that of us? These questions and more have caused some to fall. But the answer to those questions is that we can't be perfect, and God doesn't expect us to be... But when we accept Jesus Christ, seek change and try our best to follow the ways of Christ we are forgiven. And when we're forgiven, God forgets our sins and He sees only Jesus in us. He sees only perfection.
So, God doesn't expect us to never sin. He just wants us to accept His Son and follow His ways the best we can, and when we mess up... We need to seek change and forgiveness. My point? God doesn't expect anything of us that we are unable to perform. Sometimes He'll want us to do things that we don't think we can do, but once we try we'll be surprised. He knows what we're capable of and not capable of. Just trust the Lord, and give Him your all.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Assure us of your salvation and give us the faith we need to stand. Don't let us stumble or fall. In Jesus name. A-men!
