"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31 (KJV)
Sorry for the late devotion tonight (Expect more in the future.)
We worry a lot about people, maybe you're worried that your boss will fire you... Maybe you're worried that someone will bring harm on you, etc. However, as a follower of Christ one of the things you need to know is that God is on your side! If God is for you, then who can stand against you? They stand against you, they stand against God and they won't be victorious!
God is a great Father and friend, one that will stand up for His children when they're in trouble. Have you ever had a friend that would "go to bat for you?" I remember when I was in junior high school, I was getting messed with by bullies. One time in particular I went home so upset that my mother could only tell that something was wrong. She came down to the school and complained. When she left the Vice Principle called me into his office and proceeded to make it seem like I was the trouble maker. I was always very sensitive, so when I went back to class I was kind of crying. Sometimes you don't know who your friends are until something happens, a few kids asked me what was wrong. I told them, and then when lunch time rolled around... I remember the whole group of them, maybe 4 or 5 walked up to the Vice Principle and "went to bat for me." I couldn't believe it, because I didn't think anyone cared enough. Well, God is even better than the best of friends and He'll always "go to bat" for you. The only difference is that when God "goes to bat," He hits a home run EVERY SINGLE TIME! So, you have the best hitter EVER on your team, ready to go to bat FOR YOU! So, don't be afraid of what man can do to you.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us to trust in you and to not be afraid of what people will do to us. Give us assurance that you are with us. In Jesus name. A-men!
