"Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." Proverbs 27:1 (KJV)
If you're anything like me, you sometimes put things off until tomorrow. You say, "I'll do it tomorrow," but when tomorrow comes sometimes the unexpected happens. Our plans are not God's plans. You could plan out your whole week, but when it comes down to it you really have little to no control.
I'm not saying it's bad to make plans, but it is bad to make promises that you might not be able to keep. Saying you'll do something tomorrow when you have no control over what tomorrow might do to you isn't good. None of us are even guaranteed a "tomorrow," so why worry or boast about what you're going to do tomorrow? Be thankful for every day the Lord gives you and do your best for that day and let tomorrow worry about itself.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us not to boast ourselves of tomorrow or worry about tomorrow, but let us get through today. In Jesus name. A-men!
