"The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy." Psalm 145:8 (KJV) For today we're going to have a verse to ponder. So, please share what the Lord puts upon your heart. Also, to update you all about the prayer request for Karen... She had surgery last night to remove almost half of her toe, but she'll be alright. Thanks for the prayers! |

Hi David. I'm glad Karen is doing alright and will be fine.
I just looked up the word "gracious". Here is how one dictionary defines it:: of a merciful or compassionate natureGraciousness complements and goes hand in hand with God's true nature (i.e., essential characteristics and qualities of a person or thing). That graciousness includes compassion, slowness to anger, and mercy. These qualities inclines one to be grateful and bless God (with our mouths). Have you ever heard the saying: There by the grace of God go I? Grace is to be distinguished from graciousness. As the Catholic Prayer Book teaches, graces are interior and supernatural helps. These graces come from the gracious God and assist us when we need help. (That is another reason to be thankful to God.) God is always there reigning in his Kingdom and ready to offer help when we need it. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Heb. 4: 14-16 NIV)
