"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." James 4:17 (KJV)
Yesterday we talked about faith and how works come with our faith. Most of us know that we need to do good and we're presented with a lot of chances to do it every day. How many people do we see every day? How many chances do we get a day to do something good? I'd say that it can't be counted. If we do nothing good despite all of our chances to do good, then it is sin. It's sin because we know that we need to do good.
There's so many ways to do good. We can give to the needy, or just offer a helping hand to someone. Sometimes a kind word is all someone needs. The possibilities are endless on the good you can do. Open your eyes and you'll see your chance. The problem is that sometimes we notice that we can do something good, but maybe we'll think, "Let someone else do it." The problem with that kind of thinking is that sometimes nobody else will do it.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us to do good and to bear good fruit. In Jesus name. A-men!
