"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it]." 1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)
The devil is going to tempt you, there's no doubt about that. Whatever your weaknesses are, the devil is going to exploit those weaknesses! However, God will never let the devil tempt you beyond what you are able to handle. And God ALWAYS will make a way out for you, whether the way out be a door or a window. What does this all mean to me? It means that nothing the devil throws at us is too great or too unbearable. It tells me that with Jesus in our hearts, the devil cannot beat us unless we willingly surrender. And let me ask you this: Why would you do that when you CAN survive his temptation? God is on your side, not his!
God will not let the devil give us more than we can handle. Remember Job? He must've been a very special man, because he sure could handle A LOT! But you'll notice in that story that God put limitations on the devil and what he could do to Job. He basically wasn't allowed to kill Job. But Job could handle all that was thrown at him, and by handle it I mean... He never gave into the devil. His own wife wanted him to curse God, but Job wouldn't. If that isn't temptation, then what is? Sometimes death is the way out God will make for us... My Grandmother died right before things got really bad. God knew she couldn't handle the things that were to come. Remember God is more concerned with saving your soul than He is saving your body. God is more concerned with your eternity, because that's just what it is... Your ETERNITY! It never ends. Well, I must be going. I'm behind today.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us to be strong in you and not to give into temptation. Also, show us our way out of whatever problems we are going through at the moment. In Jesus name. A-men!
