Luke 19:30-34 (New American Standard Bible)
30] saying, "Go into the village ahead of you; there, as you enter, you will find a colt tied on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it and bring it here. 31] "If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' you shall say, 'The Lord has need of it.'" 32] So those who were sent went away and found it just as He had told them. 33] As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?" 34] They said, "The Lord has need of it."What Do You Call Your Donkey?
In Bible times a donkey was a prized possession, comparable to a car or truck today. Today we witness an unnamed person(s) who was willing to relinquish his donkey to the Master. There was no arm-twisting or a protracted plea; simply -"The Lord has need of it". They didn't hesitate. Theirs was a response of faith. Their donkey would be used for the sacred task of carrying Messiah as He entered Jerusalem.
Each of us has a donkey that the Lord may want; donkeys that can be used in advancing His Kingdom. It may be a God- given gift such as teaching or singing, a set of hands to help Him, or a check book. When we're called upon, may we be quick to obey and generous with our donkey.
FOR TODAY: Tell God you are willing to give what He asks.
