"Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it." Proverbs 3:27 (KJV)
Whether the good that is due to someone is a kind word, or something else we need to give that good thing if it's in our power to give. Some people really have a problem doing good or even saying good to those who really deserve it. It's not always easy, but it's part of living a positive life and shining for Jesus. When there are people who deserve a reward, we need to happily offer it.
Say that you invented something that would make a positive impact all over the world, you spent millions of dollars out of your own pocket... The product turns out great, it really makes a difference for a lot of people: But what happens? The only people who call your company to comment are people that the product didn't work for, or people that didn't use it right and they just complain. Nobody ever calls to compliment your product, wouldn't that be discouraging? Would that make you want to quit, especially since you thought you were doing good? Sometimes people need a "pat on the back," sometimes the situation calls for more. I remember when I started the www.Twellowship.com site, I really thought I was doing something good... Then people started complaining, and that's all I heard for a little bit. Finally some people came and they were very pleased with the site, if not for those people I probably would've just closed that site down. That might sound petty, but if you're doing something that you think is good... Yet it seems like nobody else thinks it's good, you start questioning it. We should never put each other in a situation where we're left questioning whether our good deeds are good. We should support each other.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us to do good and to give good to those who have it coming to them. Don't let us be afraid to reward others. In Jesus name. A-men!
