"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God." Psalms 20:7 (KJV)
We trust in a lot of stuff: We trust in our car to take us places, we trust in our house to keep us sheltered, our clothes to keep us warm, and food to keep us filled. But where do all these things come from? Would we have any of it, if it weren't for the Lord's provision? And just because we have these things does that mean that we no longer need to trust the Lord for these things? They're all temporary things. One day you're going to wake up, get ready for work, go out and try to start your car and it won't start or it's stolen. You're going to panic because you put your trust in that vehicle to get you to work, but your trust should always be in the Lord. If your trust is in the Lord, then when your car gets stolen the Lord will provide another way for you to get where you need to go. The Lord will provide anything that you need, but you have to trust in Him. Everything else in life is questionable, but the Lord is always ready to help us.
I also notice that with myself at times, when something goes wrong... The first thing I do sometimes is panic. The first thing I should do is pray, because there's nothing I can do to make it better. Only the Lord can help. It's like I panic and start thinking or saying, "I have to do this, or that to fix this." It's like putting trust in yourself over the Lord, or sometimes I'll try to get someone else to help me. Which do you think connects quicker: The telephone line or the prayer line? We need to put all our trust in the Lord, He's never let us down and He never will.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us to trust in you and not in the temporary things of this world. Draw us closer to you and guide us in all our ways. In Jesus name. A-men!
