"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen." Revelation 22:18-21 (KJV)
Some take the book of Revelation, like they do the rest of the Bible and they twist it. They make it unrecognizable. They change it in so many ways... They must think that there is no punishment for their actions. The only reward they'll receive for adding unto this book is the plagues written in the book (Not very fun!) And if they take away from this book, then they're going to be taken out of the book of life (Meaning they're going to Hell for an eternity,) and they'll have no part in the Holy City either. Basically, everything that God wants His children to have you won't have if you take away from this book (Revelation.) If you haven't read the book of Revelation you really should. It's important, and not as scary as some make it sound. You need to know it because if it's important enough to have such implications then it's important enough for us to know! It's not an optional book in the Bible, it's VERY important. There's one thing to add here too... Some are so deceived that they change God's Word and they'll say, "Well, nothing has happened to me yet! I added to the book of Revelation why aren't I plagued?" You're not going to get all the plagues right away. You'll get them when God releases them. Have you ever pre-ordered something? You pay for it before it's in stock in order to get one of the first copies? It's a weird example, but if you add to this book then you're pre-ordering those plagues written in this book (Revelation.) Unlike a new video game or something, I promise you delivery won't be late or cancelled!
I also find something interesting about these verses. For these things to be said, people must've always been taking scripture out of context or
adding to it. They must've always been using the scriptures in the wrong ways. Let this be a warning to those of you who don't read your Bible for
yourself, those of you who trust someone else to teach it to you. Even if you trust these daily devotions, I'm only human and I've made more than my
fair share of mistakes. Of course I have a lot of years ahead of me (Hopefully,) to learn more... But there are some with over 50 years in ministry that will
still lead you astray! I don't know if they purposely teach false doctrine or if they themselves are deceived. But my point is that if you want to know
God's Word (And you should want to know,) then you need to go learn it yourself! You don't need to be a preacher to read God's Word, why do you
think God made the Bible available in book stores? LOL! They're in every hotel room here in America. There's even an online Bible on several websites
www.BlueLetterBible.org, etc. There is no reason that you cannot know the Word of God. One of these days things are going to get so bad that if you don't
know it, you had better be able to learn it FAST! And I can tell you this, the Bible takes time to read much less actually study. You need to know it, and if
you don't then get on it! The reason I talk about it, is because I know the difference it can make in your life. I also know the power behind a person
who knows God's Word. If I can persuade at least one of you to read God's Word... Maybe that one person will go on and do some really amazing stuff
with that knowledge for God's Glory. That's worth it to me.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned
against us. Help us to know your Word well and to never change it in any way. In Jesus name. A-men!
