The facts stated by William of Pompano are the very reason that the Bible states that it is the LOVE OF MONEY that is the root of all kinds of evil, and not money itself. Money is simply a tool and has no personality of its own. It is how we view money that changes us. I would rather that God change me, rather than my lack or abundance of money.

Here is some notes I made while watching the PBS series, The Ascent of Money

Silver and gold can be made into money, which is:

(1) a store of value
(2) a unit of account
(3) portable power

The author of this series also mentioned that the "In God We Trust", which is printed on U.S. Federal Reserve Notes, comes from the Latin "credo" which means: I Believe. People don't actually put their trust in God but have faith in each other and the economic system. For example, you have *faith* that when you receive a paycheck from your employer, the bank will honor the check and fork over the dollar amount. Most rich people put their trust in their wallet... Money is their god, so the "In God We Trust" on the dollar bill doesn't mean the same thing to them. They think they can buy their way out of anything, but even the rich have fallen in these economic times. We trust in the Lord, we know that we need Jesus.

You can have all the money in the world, but it's only temporary and it doesn't fix every problem. The only cure all is the Lord, He's the only one who can help us with every problem we encounter. So, trust in the Lord not in your wallet.
