And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Here in Israel we have an interesting geographical phenomenon there are two landlocked seas. One is alive and one is dead. The sea full of life is the Kinneret, better known as the Sea of Galilee. The dead sea is.......you guessed it, the Dead Sea.
Well, my summer break from college is officially over... but I'll continue to try and get the devotions up.

Anyway, let's get on with the devotion. I don't know about you, but reading the Bible daily has made me smarter than I was before. When I get old I want to be a wise old man, I don't want to be without knowledge. The Bible hasn't only made me smarter, it's making me wiser as well. Am I wise yet? No, but if I continue studying the scriptures and praying for wisdom, I believe that in time I will get where I need to be.
I have to admit that when I go out these days, so many people ask me for something that it's hard to take all of their "requests" seriously. It's especially hard when I go to buy milk near the liquor store, they're all standing out there in that parking lot asking for money. It's hard not to think that they want the money to buy alcohol. Some of them won't insult you, they'll tell you the truth and say, "I'll be honest with you, I want to buy a beer." What do we do? Do we support that?
